Lamia Joreige

The first monograph on the artist's work over 20 years

Lamia Joreige’s practice is rooted in her country’s experience and it explores the possibilities of representation of the Lebanese wars and their aftermath, particularly in Beirut, a city at the center of her imagery. Her work essentially centers on Time: the recording of time, of its trace and its effects on us, underlining the process of memory and the impossibility of accessing a complete narrative.

Published by Kaph books, the structure and design of this monograph show Joreige’s work process, from the complexity of her thinking and project elaboration (“mental map”), to her use of archival documents and fictitious elements, to the end works and their contextualization in exhibitions.
