Akram Zaatari

Akram Zaatari is a filmmaker, photographer, archival artist and curator. In 1997, he co-founded the Arab Image Foundation (AIF) with photographers Fouad Elkoury, Walid Raad, and Samer Mohdad. His work is largely based on collecting, studying and archiving the photographic history of the Arab World.

Since 2017, -scope Ateliers is collaborating with Zaatari in the design, artwork and production of the Book of All Collections. This book is an integral part of the exhibition ‘Akram Zaatari. Against Photography: an annotated history of the Arab Image Foundation’. It is made-to-measure for every edition of the artist's exhibit, and features all the collections of the AIF.
