Unconformities | Ongoing visual development and image construction
Unconformities is an evolving body of work developed by Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige across multiple series and mediums, including Zig Zag Over Time, A State, and Message with(out) a code. Rooted in research, excavation, and fragmented narratives, the project unfolds through installations, printed matter, moving images, and large-scale visual compositions.
-scope Ateliers collaborates with the artists on the construction, refinement, and production of visuals across the different chapters of the project. This ongoing work involves image composition, visual editing, spatial scaling, and production development, approached with particular attention to rhythm, layering, and material presence.
Alongside the development of exhibition visuals, -scope Ateliers regularly collaborates with Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige on printed matter accompanying their projects and exhibitions. These include the dépliant for Remembering the Light at the Sursock Museum, a retrospective document tracing the evolution of their practice over the years, and Materials from the Earth, a small publication conceived around their participation in the La Biennale di Venezia. Across these formats, the editorial approach remains grounded in continuity, precision, and careful attention to the relationship between image, research, and narrative.
